Recent data from Lands of America records about $3 billion in land and other rural acreage for sale in Minnesota. The total size of land for sale in Minnesota is over 178,000 acres. Of the 87 counties in the state, Saint Louis County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. There were 314 acres of sold land in Minnesota recorded in February 2019 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over data from the month before. Benton, Freeborn, Goodhue, Morrison, Mower, Todd, and Wabasha County had the most land sales recently in the state. Unsurprisingly given its unofficial state nickname, the "Land of 1, 000 Lakes, " Minnesota has water running through its proverbial veins. Trout fishing is popular in both its southern streams and big northern lakes, including Lake Superior.
