Recent internal data shows $264 million in land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale for sale in the North Star State. This represents some 45,171 acres of land for sale in the state. Of the 87 counties in Minnesota, Beltrami County had the most land for sale. The most expensive property listed for sale in Minnesota on Lands of America recently was $6 million, though the median price for land and rural property for sale in Minnesota came in at $265,610. The average price of land and ranches for sale in Minnesota was $323,030. There was 43 acres of sold land in Minnesota recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over July 2018 data. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $929,697. Beltrami County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Unsurprisingly given its unofficial state nickname, the "Land of 1,000 Lakes," Minnesota has water running through its proverbial veins. Trout fishing is popular in both its southern streams and big northern lakes, including Lake Superior. The state's 1,300 wildlife management areas and three million acres of state forestland are home to game including moose, deer, bear, and ruffed grouse. With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Minnesota. In terms of size, Minnesota is the country's 12th-largest state, covering an area of 86,943 square miles (56 million acres). Of this area, 79,627 square miles (92 percent) is land, while the remaining 7,309 square miles comprises water.
