Lands of America recently had $237 million in farms, ranches and other land for sale for sale in the North Star State. This represents a total of 27,824 acres of land for sale in the state. The most expensive piece of land listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $6 million, although the median price for land for sale in Minnesota was $298,798. The average price of land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in Minnesota was $360,494. There was 1,597 acres of sold land in Minnesota recorded in May 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects an eight percent decrease in sales activity over the previous month. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $8.8 million. Unsurprisingly given its unofficial state nickname, the "Land of 1, 000 Lakes, " Minnesota has water running through its proverbial veins. Trout fishing is popular in both its southern streams and big northern lakes, including Lake Superior. The state's 1, 300 wildlife management areas and three million acres of state forestland are home to game including moose, deer, bear and and ruffed grouse. With numerous opportunities to hunt species including deer, boar and wild turkey, hunting land was the most common type of land for sale in Minnesota. Of Minnesota's 87 counties, Beltrami County had the most rural property and land for sale. In terms of its size, Minnesota is the country's 12th-largest state, covering an area of 86,943 square miles (56 million acres). In its entirety, 79,627 square miles (92 percent) is made up of land, while the remaining 7,309 square miles is made up of water.
